Facebook rolling out ‘Unsend’ feature in Messenger.

The release notes for Facebook Messenger’s latest update include a ‘coming soon’ note that teases a feature that lets you unsend messages in Messenger text threads within a ten-minute window. Currently, in Messenger, you can delete a message on your end of the conversation, but it does not delete on the other users’ end. No date for the new feature yet.

Twitter adds more tweet reporting options.


Twitter continues to add features intended to help clean up its platform of bots, trolls and abusers. The latest feature gives you one-tap access to more reasons why you’re reporting a tweet.

Instagram working on Stories feature for schools.

A sharp-eyed Computer Sciences student has noticed some code that suggests Instagram may be working on a feature that would let users from a certain school to contribute to and view a communal Story. The comments also suggest that content in a shared storied would be manually reviewed. No word on if or when the feature might see the light of day. (via Mashable)

Disney to launch streaming service Disney+ in 2019.

Disney has been working on a streaming service in the vein of Netflix and HBOGo, and announced this week that it will be known as Disney+, and launch in late 2019. So far, two new Star Wars universe series have been announced for the series, as well as a Marvel series focused on the character Loki, with Tom Hiddleston set to reprise the role he’s played in the MCU. (via TechCrunch)

Boring Company on track for a December debut? (via Business Insider)

Elon Musk was back on Twitter this week saying that the first tunnel by The Boring Company underneath Los Angeles is on track for a December 10 opening. His tweet included a time-lapse video of the tunnel, which Musk referred to as “disturbingly long.”


Congratulations! You’ve won a free ultimatum to fix the robocall epidemic. Here’s some potentially good news on the robocall front: the FCC is giving mobile carriers a one-year deadline to have a system in place to combat all the junk robocalls and caller ID spoofing that’s driving all of us mad. And it’s not just your imagination: unwanted calls are up to 5.1 billion in October, an almost 2 billion increase since April. The FCC said it will take action if companies haven’t met the deadline, but it’s unclear for now what that action will entail. (via BGR)
